These thongs are a my own invention based loosely on fundoshi, traditional Japanese swimwear. They are knitted using partial knitting to create ‘darts’ as in the heel of a sock, in order to make space for the genitals (so they are ‘menswear,’ loosely). You want to really cinch it: When tied tightly enough onto the body, such that the sides of the pouch sit flush on the flesh, and the round-the-waist forms a T with the up-the-ass, they are somewhat functional as underwear, swimwear, etc. They look chic on the wall too.
Please find a tutorial for wear as the last photo here. I will ship them slip-knotted, you will probably want to re-tie. Note you can slip-knot or tie however you want, as in the last image in the tutorial (double-wrapped and knotted at the fulcrum of the T in the back).
Some of them are totally opaque, some a little transparent. Some the transparency changes when wet.
Please note none of the yarns have been tested for color-fastness or resilience otherwise when exposed to saltwater or chlorine. I had one that bleached quickly in chlorine, but many that survive totally fine. As regards swim comfort, animal fibers dry more quickly, linen and cotton more slowly. Thinner fabrics dry more quickly than thicker.
The thongs all have the same general design, but each time I make one I tend to modify things slightly for experiment. Differences in material, knitting gauge, tail thickness, hole size, etc apply. Some give greater coverage than others. I will note certain mutable qualities in each particular listing. I’ve washed them all at once, so they may have some of each other’s fibers clinging.
All have tails long enough to fit up to a 46” waist or so. Some fit up to 60”. Please reach out with any questions about fit.

I am calling these editions of three. I’ve made one of each so far. When a second or third sells, I will make it and ship it, so expect the second or third of each piece (you can see how many remain) to take a bit longer to ship. The second and third may be slightly different from the first in coverage and opacity, as I haven’t kept perfect record of knitting gauge, tail width, etc., but they will be more or less the same. All told, I am aiming to ship made-to-order within three weeks, already-made within one. Please reach out with any time urgency.
As for international shipping, I am setting the shipping and handling fairly high, as it is a lot of work, and generally these days very expensive. All customs duties etc must be paid by the buyer.
